RECON ONE, Flight Tablet Caddy & BagThis is where we got our start, the RECON ONE (see video below). It is a rugged mil-spec designed bag with a revolutionary detachable flight tablet caddy (more info on this Caddy HERE) that was successfully funded on Kickstarter (read some of the KS backer comments received below). What makes the RECON ONE so special? Once you open up the YKK zippers, you will find the bag has an organizer on one side and the flight caddy on the other. The organizer side has three pockets. A padded pocket (5.7" (Deep) x 3.5" (Wide) x 1" (Thick)) designed to hold a portable charger, a middle pocket to hold your phone and a mesh zippered pocket with key ring. In one of the photos we have one of NewTrent's iCarrier heavy duty dual port charger which we use to charge both a phone and a tablet. Keep in mind that the RECON ONE does NOT come with a charger. The charging cable routes through the bottom of the pouch and into the side of the tablet sleeve (for an iPad; other tablets are easily charged from the top) and any excess cable length is kept tidy inside a Velcro sleeve at the bottom. All this organization along with the flight caddy (more info on this Caddy HERE) inside a bag that comes with two padded exterior pockets with nylon webbing flaps and magnetic closures. Behind the pockets, additional space is available to hold items like your flight tickets. Last but not least, the RECON ONE has been designed to slide securely onto your luggage handle for ease of travel. While waiting for the recon one I had to get a Maxpedition neatfreak to carry the ipad mini around, and gotten quite used to it and thought I didn't actually need this already. I'm glad to say I was wrong. While both are very high quality, this looks a lot more conservative and less tactical while maintaining the mil-spec quality and feel to it, the compartments are well thought out, the padding is more than adequate, I'm happy with how the colors turned out, and I wouldn't hesitate to pay more for it. At $130 it really is a steal. Nice work, Helm!""Got my package today, love the contents. The bag looks great and I can even get my laptop in there. Quality looks is awesome. Thanks Helm, look forward to seeing future products from you.""Great bag! I'm 100% impressed with the quality. I can't wait to make my trip in a couple weeks. Plus this has been a great project to follow. " "nice really nice. just received, well thought out, good construction and material choices. attention to details. clean and functional product. I do feel that the end product is well worth the price.""Just got my Recon 8 in the mail. Love the red liner. And just in time, going on a little trip so gonna pack this guy up for it. Thanks for the great product.""Thanks Helm, I have indeed received my bag and everything is fine! I really like it, so please keep up the good work!"
